Clay Matters’ presented the 'Facts of Matter’ exhibition at Linden New Art’s Project Space
in Feb-March 2024. Its aim was to connect with audiences emotionally and intellectually on
the topic of the environmental and climate crises, advocating for sustainable action against
climate change and environmental damage, and promoting hope and optimism.
Each of the ten artists responded to their own meaningful reference and through their
creative practices; exploring what sustainability means to us both as individuals and as a
collective of ceramicists.

Thanks to Linden Gallery for hosting a casual discussion with CLIMARTE's Deborah Hart,
Scientell's Simon Torok, and Facts of Matter Curator, Cinda Manins, and other Clay
Matters collective members to explore the role of Art in communicating environmental
information, about retaining hope and optimism in our art practices and beyond, and other
scintillating issues.

Facts of Matter was endorsed by CLIMARTE and included in the program of the National
Sustainable Living Festival
and was supported by the City of Port Phillip Cultural
Development Fund.
